ビートルズ3枚目の英国オリジナル・アルバム『A Hard Day’s Night』の収録曲。
このアルバムは、
1968年公開の同名の映画のサントラでもある。
実質ポールの作品で、
ジョンも少し手伝ったといわれている。
実際にインタヴューで、
ジョンはこんなふうに言っている。
‘And I Love Her’ is Paul again.

I consider it his first ‘Yesterday’.
You know, the big ballad in A Hard Day’s Night.
The middle eight, I helped with that.

タイトルはビートルズ1964年の『Beatles for Sale』でカヴァーしている、
チャック・ベリーの『Rock and Roll Music』の歌詞からとられている。
ダイアナ・クラールの7分に及ぶカヴァーは、
全く長さを感じさせない。
おまけ (I Got No Kick Against) Modern Jazz
このアルバムには他にもいわゆるジャズのビートルズ・カヴァーがいろいろ並んでいるので、
一応他のものも聴いておきたい。
ちなみにアルバムのタイトルはビートルズが1964年の『Beatles for Sale』でカヴァーしている、
チャック・ベリーの『Rock and Roll Music』の歌詞からとられている。

アルバムのタイトル通り、
カート・コバーンがホーム・レコーディングで『And I Love Her』を唄っている。

シングルでリリースされている。
